Ethics and values

Common rules to live by

A good reputation and strong competitiveness starts from within. Values, leadership principles and ethical guidelines are the common rules we live by and part of the glue that binds our group together.

The rules we live by guide all our decisions. They don't give us concrete answers as to how we should behave and manage in a particular situation, but steer us so we can make a good assessment. In a world where everything is moving increasingly faster, good judgement, intuition and basic reaction are essential.

The development of our values must be balanced against economic efficiency and an ethical, value-based and involving leadership which takes into consideration long-term jobs and an attractive workplace.

  • Values
  • Leadership principles
  • Ethical guidelines

Values
In a large group like ours, common values are important. Common values are part of the glue that binds a many-sided group together. Through our values, we reflect a group that can be relied upon in all respects, and one we can be proud to work for. The values help build our common culture and guide us in all our decisions. Established forms of cooperation between managers, employees, management organs, owners and the authorities must reflect the values.

Our five values:

Honesty

  • We keep our promises
  • We take responsibility
  • We instil confidence in our employees, customers and other stakeholders
  • We are clear in all our communication so that we generate assurance

Respect

  • We show consideration for each other
  • We recognise each other's differences
  • We understand the customer's needs and expectations and go out of our way to meet these
  • We prevent accidents and ensure that nobody injures themselves at the workplace

Collaboration

  • We work as a team to ensure the success of the whole Group
  • We cooperate to reach our common goals
  • We focus on the crucial issues for the business
  • We choose solutions which are best for the Group

Openness

  • We share knowledge and information with each other
  • We are curious and receptive to ideas
  • We give and receive constructive feedback
  • We attend to ethical problems immediately

Courage

  • We dare to go down new roads and challenge accepted truths
  • We place clear demands on each other and promote change
  • We are active
  • We are eager for innovation in all areas of the value chain

Leadership principles
To lead in the Group means to set goals, release energy and control resources. The Group's leaders must practise value-based leadership that balances involvement and control. Good leaders are necessary, if employees are to be satisfied and do their best. Leaders are role models in their behaviour and must bring the Group's value basis to life.

Our leaders are characterised in that they:

  • are visible
  • are clear
  • take and give responsibility
  • develop and inspire employees

Ethical guidelines
We live to deliver. To be able to deliver, we need the customer’s trust, as well as motivated employees. Integrity and respect are two of the Group’s basic values. These are core values with regard to customer trust and a good working environment.

A series of ethical guidelines building on the Group’s basic values have been developed to set a standard for what can be considered good and responsible behaviour. These guidelines apply to all of the Group’s employees and outline the company’s internal and external culture of equality. The Group shall be recognised by its high ethical standards and open business culture, where open discussion of ethical dilemmas in the workplace is encouraged.

The Group´s ethical guidelines aim to achive:

  • High ethical standards
  • An open business culture
  • Responsibility
  • Dialogue and advance notice
