No other Norwegian company has, over the last few years, implemented as large a process of change as Norway Post. Technological challenges, globalisation, increased competition and new customer requirements have challenged Norway Post to think outside the box. We are building up a modern business in an industry that is being liberalised around the world. Today, nearly 90% of our turnover arises from business that is subject to competition.
Our strategy is growth
Our largest customers are, to an increasing extent, Nordic and international companies, and are searching for solutions
to
their communication and logistics needs, which cover the entire Nordic region. Norway Post wants to use acquisition, product
and service development to acquire a strong position in the Nordic region market – our strategy is growth. Our traditional
products have been linked to the physical channels – packages and letters, but Norway Post is so much more! Norway Post currently
develops and delivers holistic solutions for postal, communication and logistics through its physical and electronic network.
Growth will primarily come from outside the traditional postal sector. The Group has many areas of business, and in the future
it will be important to exploit the opportunities for good deliveries and efficient operations that are offered by a process
of coordination across organisational boundaries. The Group includes such Scandinavian companies as ErgoGroup, Box, Nor-Cargo,
Frigoscandia and CityMail.
A modern workplace
In 2003, we moved into Posthuset (the former Postgiro building), in the centre of Oslo. Posthuset has been rebuilt into
a
modern office building, with open, flexible solutions, which promote coordination and stimulate innovation.
A wealth of career opportunities
Few companies have such a large internal work market as Norway Post. This gives our trainees huge opportunities to investigate
different specialist areas during their trainee period. There are a wealth of opportunities for continual development and
growth for talented individuals, who have the ability to produce good results. We are primarily looking for candidates who
want a future in senior management. As one of our managers, you must focus on innovation and profitability. You must also
be able to build a motivated and active team in a time of continual change and transformation. A managerial position in marketing
or sales may be linked to chain operations or with development of products and services. A management position within logistics
may be in one of our terminals or the postal network. High priority will be placed on building the efficiency of working methods
and the value chain. Our trainees will also have many opportunities in the Group’s subsidiaries. At Norway Post, each employee
has an autonomous responsibility for his or her own development. Having said this, we are also proud of our large and all-inclusive
investment in internal management development.
